It might save money, but what will happen to the service?

Wiltshire Council's Conservative cabinet has decided to make the post of service director of libraries, heritage and the arts redundant.

With immediate effect, the service will be managed under the existing service director of community leadership and governance, Niki Lewis, and her title will change to encompass libraries, heritage and the arts.

Let's hope that this isn't a sign that WC intends Wiltshire to become a desert for the arts populated by the semi-literate who haven't seen a book since they left school.
