Friday March 11, 2005 WWDC planning committee decisions.

Decisions were made last night on three items relating to Paxcroft Ward.
Trevor Carbin and I found ourselves in total agreement over the local planning applications, but with differing degrees of 'success'.

The request by Persimmon to allow three storey buildings next to the canal was allowed, despite Trevor and I voicing our dis-quiet, and the fact that a similar application was refused just five months ago.

However, our concerns regarding the applications for a pub at Paxcroft Mead were shared by the committee and both were 'refused'. The reasons were a) highway safety concerns (as there is insufficient parking provision) and b) the fact that Marshgate does not (so we are told) control any more land at the local centre, and cannot therefore comply with the extant section 106 agreement if the pub is constructed on this site.
