The 2010/11 council tax was set yesterday.

The Conservatives at County Hall forced through their budget yesterday and imposed an average 2.3% council tax increase on Wiltshire.

Residents of west Wiltshire will see a slightly lower increase as the tax rates across the county are harmonized.

The Lib Dem group came up with some interesting variations to the budget, but they never became formal proposals.

The meeting started at 10.30am and went on until nearly 5 o'clock.
