Today is St. George's Day and it will probably pass almost un-noticed.
In 2010, a survey indicated that the English are the least likely people in Europe to celebrate their nationality in public. In the past it was seen as being politically incorrect or racist to celebrate being English. The day was seen as being jingoistic and political. Those incorrect views are now being overtaken by a more sensible outlook on the day by many people including the ex England rugby player Lawrence Dallaglio.
If you're interested, today, by co-incidence, is also Shakespeare’s birthday!
