Paxcroft Mead pub planning appeal result.
The Inspector has made his decision.
In a decision dated 26th April, the Inspector has allowed the appeal by Marston's PLC.The appeal decision runs to over four pages and is obviously very detailed. One good point to come from it is that Marston's has entered into covenants not to use the site for any purpose other than classes A3 (restaurants & cafes) or A4 (drinking establishments). This will ensure that the site is at least used for the provision of a community facility that was envisaged in the original Paxcroft Mead development brief some twenty (ish) years ago and Marston's cannot suddenly decide that a pub isn't financilly viable and apply to put housing on the site instead.
