Ernie Clark. Hilperton Division, Wiltshire Council.

Well, we now know who our new MP is.

The result was close but there had to be a winner and that was Duncan Hames (Lib Dem).

I look forward to working with Duncan, whom I know from his time as a councillor at West Wiltshire District Council, for the benefit of Hilperton.

The big question though, must be 'How long before we have another election?'

The full result for Chippenham (with a 73% turnout) was

Duncan Hames (Lib Dems): 23,970 votes

Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones (Conservative): 21,500 votes

Greg Lovell (Labour): 3,620 votes

Julia Reid (UKIP): 1,718 votes

Michael Simpkins (BNP): 641 votes

Samantha Fletcher (Green): 446 votes

Jon Maguire (English Democrats Party): 307 votes
