A couple of Kennet DC payments might be recovered.

At the full meeting of Wiltshire Council yesterday, both myself and another member asked questions about the non-pensionable honoraria saga as reported in the Rotten Boroughs page of Private Eye.

The council is still insisting that it is going to hide behind the Data Protection Act to keep information out of the public domain.

However, in answer to my direct question 'How many cases are being persued for repayment, and what is the some of money involved?' the Leader of the council advised her answer as 'Two cases totalling £10,000'.

Assuming that the figure quoted by Private Eye was correct that would leave a £50,000 shortfall in the public coffers.

As Private Eye often says 'Nice work if you can get it'.
