What a feat of engineering it must have been, and still is.

The Kennet and Avon canal is two hundred years old this year.

The Canal Trust is organizing a number of events at various venues including Devizes and Bradford-on-Avon.

On Bank Holiday Monday (31st May) there will be an exhibition of the canal's history and future (which may cover the planned re-opening of the Wilts and Berks canal as well).

It will be held at the West Barn B-o-A between 10.00am and 4.00pm.

For those of you otherwise engaged on the bank holiday, the exhibition will also run on the Tuesday and Wednesday at the same times.
