Have your say on what will happen to our bin service.
The long awaited consultation on the future waste collection options for the county has began.

There will be a road show in Trowbridge on 30th June between 10.00am and 2.00pm. Comments have to be with WC by 20th August.

The main points for Hilperton residents are as follows:

The black box service will be enhanced so that plastic and cardboard will also be collected from the kerbside.

The green bin service will continue with no extra cost to use the bin.

The grey wheelie bin will be emptied on alternate weeks as it is now.

The kerbside collection of plastic and cardboard has always featured highly when I speak to residents and so I'm pleased to see WC taking this on board. I'm also happy that the idea of charging us to use the green wheelie bin has been forgotten. Quiet lobbying behind the scenes doesn't always work at WC, but it is good to see that it has this time.
