Plans move forward but visit numbers drop ...

The WC library service made several presentations at last nights meeting of Trowbridge Area Board.

The first two concerned the relocation of the library to the new County Hall, whilst the third concerned the £500k savings that have to be made by the service over the next two years (about 10% of the budget).

From what was said, it would seem that Trowbridge's new library is safe but there were two disturbing facts revealed. The first was that visits to the existing library have dropped by about 15% and book loans have dropped by a similar figure.

If we want to ensure the long-term future of our library we all need to play our part by getting down there and actually borrowing a book or two.
