Wiltshire Council reduces propaganda costs.
Less magazines for us to recycle.
Wiltshire Council will reduce the number of £20,000 per issue "Your Wiltshire" magazines from ten to five each year.As you might recall, the magazines basically tell us how wonderful our WC is and how well the Conservatives are running the council and county. The magazine is delivered by Royal Mail to over 200,000 households at a cost of £18,500. Print costs have averaged £20,000 per edition in the past and there is some income from advertising revenue. Oddly, the council also offsets the costs it claims it would have to spend on publicity if the magazine wasn't produced in producing the net cost figure of £20,000 per edition. In addition, the council produces a magazine for tenants in council houses. I have asked a question for the next full council meeting to try and find out how much this magazine costs in addition to "Your Wiltshire".
