Hilperton success two years running.

For the second year running, Hilperton has been judged the best-kept large village in west Wiltshire, beating other villages such as Holt and Bratton.

The judges commented 'The residential gardens were generally tidy, although some weeds were in evidence at the base of walls. There was very little litter seen anywhere in the village and there was no sign of dog fouling.

The surroundings of the village hall, primary school and the ‘Lion and Fiddle’ public house were all neat and tidy. The children’s play area, the Churchyard and burial ground, as well as the War Memorial and water pump set into the wall were all well maintained.

Notices on notice boards were current. The footpaths were all reasonably clear.

The judges were particularly impressed by the allotments which had only been established since April. They were immaculately kept and the village should be proud of them.'

This award is a massive 'Thank you' for all the residents that take pride in the village. Yet again, Hilperton has proved to be the place to be.
