Why has building work stopped?

Various rumours seem to be floating around about the pub.

I have heard several theories why work has stopped.

'There are problems with parking.' Attivo has now introduced a trial period of 3 hour parking at the local centre. This is not why work has stopped.

'There are problems with the foundations.' I have contacted the company that is acting as the building regulations body for the work. There are no foundation problems and this is not why work has stopped.

'There are flooding problems with the site.' Not so far as I know. The land is clay but so is most of Hilperton. This isn't why work has stopped.

I am told that work is due to re-start this month and the target opening date is still on schedule. It would seem that the lull in building is just one of those things.

A new rumour is that the sub-contractor, whoever that might be, has gone bankrupt. If this is the case, I am sure that Marston's will simply award the contract to another company.
