Core Strategy Consultation Report.
The report is now available on-line.
A report which records and summarises the responses to the Wiltshire 2026 consultation exercise is now available to online. In late 2009, Wiltshire Council published 'Wiltshire 2026 – Planning for Wiltshire’s Future' for public consultation. Wiltshire 2026 drew together the local plans review work initiated by the former district councils to help inform the creation of a new overarching single plan for Wiltshire. However, Wiltshire 2026 did not address issues in south Wiltshire because this work had already been done as part of the preparation for the South Wiltshire Core Strategy, which will ultimately be merged with the Wiltshire Core Strategy. The Wiltshire Core Strategy will be at the heart of the new local development framework, a collection of planning policy documents that will influence decision making, drive investment opportunities and guide long-term development in Wiltshire.A stage in the preparation of the Wiltshire Core Strategy, Wiltshire 2026 attempted to engage communities on broad principles, such as the key issues and opportunities in community areas, the draft vision, the strategic objectives, and potential strategic development sites. The consultation included 4,000 direct consultees, including community groups, 17 exhibitions across Wiltshire and 15 workshops. In addition, meetings were held with town and parish councils and documents were provided to elected Wiltshire councillors. A total of 2,192 individual responses were received from 678 respondents. The report is now available to view
