The definitive info on the Gap Road.
My thanks to Duncan Hames (our MP) for getting info that I couldn't.
The email to Duncan begins with the usual flim-flam but then gets down to the detail of what has been going on and what will be happening in the future. I quote'Whilst it is hoped that we will be in a position to start development of East Trowbridge in 2011, its impact will still not necessitate development of the Hilperton Relief Road for a number of years once this site start has occurred. We anticipate that this will be 2014 at the earliest. We have recently undertaken some general housekeeping work on the land which the Hilperton Relief Road is to be built and we intend to undertake some further minor works in the hear future.I can confirm at this point in time that it is not our intention to build the Hilperton Relief Road and the minor works intended pursuant to our planning consent should not cause any real disturbance to the local community. Such minor works will be completed over the next couple of months.'So there you have it. Persimmon hope to start the new houses off the extended Leap Gate (going onto West Ashton Road) next year, with the Gap Road anticipated to follow in 2014 at the earliest.
