Our MP is to meet the Minister about driving test centre review.

Local MPs Duncan Hames and Andrew Murrison, as well as others from parts of the country affected by test centre closures, are to meet government Minister Mike Penning on November 2nd to see if they can get a review into the last government's test centre closure programme.

Before the general election Theresa Villiers MP, now Conservative Minister of State for Transport and Norman Baker MP, now Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport, both pledged to undertake a full review of the nationwide Driving Test Centre Closure Programme.

Whilst the closure of the Trowbridge Centre might have saved the government a few pounds, it has caused untold extra costs for local people as well as adding to pollution by forcing local 'L' drivers to travel to Chippenham for their practical test. If ever there is an example of totally 'unjoined-up' thinking, this was it!!
