Ernie Clark. Hilperton Division, Wiltshire Council.

Will It get printed? Will I get a reply?

Rather than make a Fredom of Information request to the council (which will cost money to reply to) I have sent the following letter to the Wiltshire Times this week.

'Dear Sir,

In your letters page last week, Cllr. de Rhe-Philipe stated 'the refurbishment of the old George Ward School is now nearly complete'.

Could she answer two simple questions? a) Is the refurbishment over budget and, if so, by how much? b) As the building was used as a school until only four months ago, why has it been necessary for a local fire alarm installation company to have vans on-site for the last couple of weeks? They have been there too long to be simply servicing the system, so what is the problem? Was the previous system not safe or do council staff need a higher standard of protection from fire than students?

Hopefully the paper will publish it and Cllr. de Rhe-Philipe will answer!!
