The fee increase was not 'called-in' earlier this week.

An Environment Select Committee special meeting was held earlier this week to consider the call-in of Cabinet's decision dated 14 December in respect of the Wiltshire Local Transport Plan 2011-2026 - Car Parking Strategy.

The Committee resolved as follows:

'The Environment Select Committee after hearing the concerns, evidence and response is satisfied by the response, takes no further action and informs the decision-maker (Cabinet) accordingly. The decision will then be implemented immediately.'

This is no surprise as the committee is 'politically balanced' (i.e. the Conservatives have a built-in majority) and it would have been a major upset if they had acted against their own party's cabinet decision.
