Parish Council says 'No' to Trowbridge.
Hilperton PC considered its response on Tuesday.
In response to the suggestion by Trowbridge Town Council that parts of Hilperton should be 're-branded' as Trowbridge, the parish council agreed its official response to be sent to Wiltshire Council. The reply stretches to a side of A4 but the basic comment is that the parish council can see no logic in the suggestion nor the need for Wiltshire Council to spend valuable cash on carrying-out the governance review suggested by Trowbridge. However, the parish council suggests that, if a review is commenced, then consideration should be given to moving the whole of Paxcroft Mead (as it currently is) into Hilperton. The logic behind this is due to the fact that many residents have been allocated 'Hilperton' postal addresses by the Royal Mail even though the properties are in Trowbridge. Transferring them to Hilperton would therefore seem to make sense if Trowbridge TC wishes to avoid too much confusion for residents. The full letter can be viewed by
