Careconnect bogus callers.
Don't give bank details over the phone...
If you are a Careconnect user, they will not call you asking for bank account details.Last week a Careconnect user was unexpectedly phoned. The caller announced that they wanted bank details from the customer because she was required to pay £10.00 per month for the insurance on the lifeline machine that she is currently using. She took the correct action by explaining that she would not issue bank details over the phone and hung up.The service that this lady is currently receiving from Wiltshire Council Careconnect is free of charge and this alerted the family to the fact that the request was probably not genuine.Careconnect confirmed that the call definitely did not originate from them and so must have been a bogus call. Careconnect rang the police Vulnerable Adult’s team and other key agencies such as Age UK to inform them of this incident.Should any further incidents of this nature occur, please contact the Police Vulnerable Adults Unit - the Police contact is Steve Coxhead, telephone number 08454087000.
