Contract signed for Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) plant.

Wiltshire Council and Hills Waste Solutions have signed a contract to enable 60,000 tonnes of household waste to be treated in a new MBT plant in Westbury.

It is intended that the Westbury MBT plant will reduce the proportion of Wiltshire’s waste sent to landfill and help the number of miles refuse collection vehicles currently have to drive from west Wiltshire to the landfill site at Lower Compton.
