New helpline for licensees.
A special 'phone hotline will open Monday 25 July.
From 25 July help will be available on 020 7072 7447 or e-mail at licensing@lga.gov.uk
Those who do not apply to transfer their licence by 06 August will have to apply for an entirely new one, and anyone without a valid licence on 24 November will not be able to sell alcohol. In addition, they cannot put on regulated entertainment, nor sell hot food or drink after 11pm.
Nationally, 60% of traders have still not applied for their licences and this is causing serious concerns that local authorities may not be able to cope with a last minute rush.
This new legislation has far reaching implications but, despite much publicity, many organisations still do not realise that it could effect their premises.
