Ernie Clark. Hilperton Division, Wiltshire Council.

Work has been delayed for a week or two.

You might have noticed that the large, yellow 'notification of road closure' signs have disappeared.

I have contacted Wiltshire Council and received the following reply:

Dear Cllr. Clark,

The scheme was originally due to start on 1st Aug for 5 evenings. Due to the evidence of tar in the material to be removed, we have been asked to carryout further material testing to satisfy the Environment Agency of precise leachate levels under the Landfill Waste Acceptance Criteria. This will determine where we can dispose of the material, satisfying the Environment Agency.

Therefore, unfortunately, the scheme has had to be reprogrammed. The new start date is now Monday 22nd August for 5 evenings.

I will send out notification to the residents advising of the details of the works and traffic management procedures shortly.'

If you require any more information please do not hesitate to contact me.
