An email to our MP.
I have contacted Duncan Hames about the Core Strategy.
I have been in touch with Duncan to hopefully enlist his support...Dear Duncan,You may be aware that Wiltshire Council (WC) has its Wiltshire Core Strategy out for public consultation until 5.00pm on 8th August. The document is obviously very detailed but I would like, on behalf of both my and your constituents, to seek your support.Without going into too much detail, the spatial planners at WC have, for the Trowbridge area, listed only North Bradley, Southwick and West Ashton as ‘large’ villages – Hilperton has, quite literally, disappeared off the map!! WC has stated “We recognise the sensitivity of this matter and are happy to make a commitment to work with the Parish Council, following the formal completion of the consultation process, to identify a satisfactory solution to this matter.”However, I wonder if you could lend your support to myself, the Parish Council and concerned residents by contacting WC and urging them to afford Hilperton the protection it deserves to prevent it becoming part of Greater Trowbridge. This can be done by classing us as a ‘large village’ which would then ensure that the extant Village Policy Limit is retained. Many thanks,Ernie.
