The WC cabinet is to have an 'emergency' meeting.

The 100% Conservative WC cabinet is meeting next week to hopefully undo the damage done to the Salisbury economy by their decision to increase parking fees in the city.

However, despite the meeting being to discuss Salisbury's parking issues, the meeting is to be held in Devizes! I wonder why? Probably to discourage too much public participation; after all this is Wiltshire 'Where everybody matters', so long as you agree with Jane Scott and her chums.

When I was chairman of the Trowbridge Area Board, I arranged for a presentation about the increased fees in the town to find out what could be done. However, the cudgel wasn't taken-up by any of the councillors representing the town and its businesses. Let's hope they will now get themselves sorted out and follow Salisbury's lead.
