The 2011 Emergency Services Show.
It will be held on Sunday 11 September at Hullavington Airfield.
The show is supported by Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, Wiltshire Police, and Great Western Ambulance Service and will be open to the public between 10.00am and 4.00pm on the 11th September. Its aim is to entertain and inform people about community safety, and help them gain insight and knowledge of how the blue light services work to protect the community.Attractions include:- A display by the Silver Stars Parachute Team.- Fire engine and police car rides.- South West regional police dog trials- "It's A Knockout" tournament in aid of Wiltshire Air Ambulance.- Demonstrations by all three 'blue light' services and much more!Last year's Emergency Services Show raised over £17,000 for charity and attracted over 10,000 visitors. The 2011 event will include a commemorative balloon launch as a mark of respect on the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, which cost the lives of so many emergency services workers in New York. Chairman Chris Harvey said that this year's event was particularly important: "Obviously, the Show falls on the anniversary of 9/11, and we will be remembering our colleagues who made the ultimate sacrifice. However, 2011 also matters as we will be taking a break in 2012 because of the operational commitments faced by the blue light services during the Olympics."
