Three people prosecuted for noise order breaches.

Following investigations by Wiltshire Council, three people have been fined and had their music equipment seized after repeatedly playing loud music.

On September 2, 2011 Kerry Jarvis of Cornwall House, Corsham was found guilty of four offences under Section 80 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. Ms. Jarvis was fined £350, ordered to pay costs of £400 and a £15 victim surcharge. The magistrates ordered that all items seized as part of the investigation will not be returned. The prosecution hearing took place at Chippenham Magistrate Court.

In a separate investigation Ricky Amoroso and Adam Smith of Palmer Grove, Semington were found guilty of an offence under Section 80 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 on September 2, 2011. Mr. Amoroso and Mr. Smith were each fined £350, ordered to pay costs of £200 and a £15 victim surcharge. The magistrates ordered that all items seized as part of the investigation will not be returned.

Cabinet Member with responsibilities for public health and protection services, Keith Humphries said: 'I am pleased with the outcome of these prosecutions and hope this demonstrates the council will exercise its powers of seizure and prosecution in appropriate cases. I hope this serves as a warning to people who play loud music repeatedly which affects neighbouring properties and communities.'
