Another developer wants to bring a cinema to town.

Legal & General (L&G) is holding an exhibition this Friday and Saturday showing their plans for the St. Stephens Place site in Trowbridge.

The scheme will be on show in the Castle Place shopping centre on the 21st (9.30 - 6.00) and 22nd (9.30 - 5.00). They also have a website - www.trowbridgecinema.co.uk

L&G hope to submit a full planning application later this year and hope to have the building work completed within two years.

The planned development would consist of an eight screen multiplex cinema, an 80-bed hotel, six family orientated restaurants and over 100 (new) on-site car parking spaces. There would be easy access to the existing Castle Place car park.

As with the other suggested cinema complex for the town, L&G state that their scheme is fully funded and talks with operators are at an advanced stage.

The scheme is one of a number being put forward by various developers to regenerate derelict sites in the town centre.
