Christmas waste collection arrangements.
Only the Christmas week will see any disruption.
Wiltshire Council is anticipating a green Christmas as residents use their blue lidded bins to recycle record amounts of plastic bottles and cardboard.People can also take any extra recycling to one of eleven household recycling centres across Wiltshire. All household recycling centres will be open between Christmas and New Year. They will close at 1pm on Christmas Eve and be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. They will be open from 9am to 4pm and Monday to Sunday at all other times.Throughout January, you can leave your Christmas tree beside your green bin for collection on your normal scheduled garden waste collection day. There will be minimal disruption to waste and recycling collections over the holiday period. The bin crews won’t be working on Boxing Day but will be working on Saturday December 31 to catch up, and on Monday January 2 so there won’t be any disruption to services over the New Year. There will be no collections of household waste, black box, garden waste, plastic bottles or cardboard on Christmas Day or Boxing Day. Please check the WC 'waste and recycling collection over Christmas' page to see how this affects your collections.Basically, the revised timetable is:-Monday 26 December will be collected on Tuesday 27 December.Tuesday 27 December will be collected on Wednesday 28 December.Wednesday 28 December will be collected on Thursday 29 December.Thursday 29 December will be collected on Friday 30 December.Friday 30 December will be collected on Saturday 31 December.Services will then return to normal from Monday 2nd January.
