Devizes Road, Hilperton.
Local residents concerned at speeding and use by HGV's.
"Dear Resident,
You may recall that during my County Council election campaign, one of the issues I highlighted was traffic use of Devizes Road.
I was unsuccessful in that election (by 176 votes out of over 4,500 cast) but, since then, I am pleased to see that one of the political parties has woken up to the problem; however I am not aware of our County Councillor (Sarah Content) actually progressing the matter.
Accordingly, I pursued this matter via Hilperton Parish Council, and I am pleased to be able to advise that some progress has been made. The Parish Council has received a letter from the Divisional Police HQ at Melksham confirming that both they, and Trowbridge Police, will monitor both the lorry and speeding problems.
I realise that this is not the news that you were hoping to hear, but at least it is a start to resolving the problem."
