Do you want to be energy efficient?
Wiltshire homeowners asked to get involved in energy efficiency plans.
Wiltshire homeowners are being encouraged to help develop a service to make turning homes more energy efficient, easier and more affordable.Wiltshire Council and Severn Wye Energy Agency (SWEA) are developing an impartial one stop shop green refurbishment service called Countdown to Low Carbon Homes. This service will take the uncertainty and hassle out of making a home more energy efficient by providing advice and help at every stage of the process. The service will provide:•The initial energy survey•An action plan for the work•A list of locally accredited installers•Guidance on the financial options available•Ongoing support after the work is complete to ensure the work delivers the anticipated savings.Wiltshire Council and SWEA wish to work with households across the county to develop this service. They are looking for people who are thinking about making their home more energy efficient over the next 18 months, or have recently made improvements to their home and would like support to fully benefit from the savings.Listed buildings are eligible and people on lower incomes are encouraged to apply as finance packages can be developed to suit different needs. There is no charge for participating in this research project and those involved will receive a free home energy survey, an energy meter and regular one to one support. Energy efficiency measures installed as a result of the survey will need to be funded directly by the homeowner or by accessing other available grants and funding. The closing date for applications is Friday April 13.For more information, or to express an interest, people should contact Audrey Healy, at Severn Wye Energy Agency on 01452 835065 or can email Audrey@swea.co.uk
