Second Icelandic bank payment.
Only a few million poiunds more left to recover...
Wiltshire Council has received almost half of the money back from the Winding-up Board of Landsbanki Islands hf Bank, Iceland. With the most recent payment of £383,650 and the previous one of around £952,000, the council has received about 40 percent of the total outstanding amount.Latest indications show the council will eventually receive 100 per cent of its outstanding deposit of £3 million. There is no indication at this stage when the next payment will be received, however, it is likely that the recovery of all the assets and the winding-up proceedings will take a while and may not be concluded for a few more years.Wiltshire Council leader, Jane Scott, said: 'I am very pleased to report the second payment from Landsbanki has been made to the council and that it brings our total repayments to over £1.3 million. We will keep a close eye on the winding-up proceedings and will continue to update the public when we have news.'
