WC has a scheme to help fund larger projects.

The 'Substantive Highway Scheme' awards money for road safety works which are too expensive for an Area Board to fund.

For this financial year a total of £205,900 was available. 16 bids were submitted by various Area Boards and 13 were successful.

The local success was for work to Bythesea Road in Trowbridge to make life easier for pedestrians (£10,700) and the work has already been completed.
