Ernie Clark. Hilperton Division, Wiltshire Council.

The Wiltshire Conservatives seem to have shot themselves in the foot.

The Wiltshire Core Strategy was established over the last three years through consultations with Parish Councils, Area Boards, local people, businesses and voluntary organisations.

However, at the last minute, literally during a full council meeting to adopt the plan, and after all the consultation, Wiltshire Conservatives blocked vote to insert a new policy to effectively ban wind turbines in the county.

As sure as night follows day, this has now delayed the process and a government planning inspector has asked the council to go back and consult on the changes!

Any comments will then be considered by the Inspector as part of the Examination in Public into the soundness of the document.
