The mystery unravels - slightly.

WC has finally replied to my Freedom of Information request relating to the 'golden goodbye' paid to Marc Boden.

In my web post yesterday I stated 'Another (un-named) corporate director who left in December 2011 received £233,713, of which £126,165 was compensation.

The reply to my FoI request states 'The total severance package paid to Mr. Boden = £126165.40 (this is redundancy and lieu of notice).' So we now know who the un-named officer was; but why the secrecy in the first place?

I have now submitted a new FoI request to find out what the other £100,0000+ was for. Hopefully I won't have to wait months for an answer...

Mr. Boden is now the Chief Executive of the Shetland Islands Council (yes, really) on, I suspect a very good package. Mind you, the SIC has had three Chief Execs over the past three and a half years so the longevity of his post doesn't look too good.
