Have you registered to vote yet?

Canvassers will hit the doorsteps earlier than normal this year to give local people their chance to register to vote in the next elections.

This is because of the upcoming Police Commissioner elections on 15 November 2012.

Canvassers will be calling at any properties where people have not registered to vote, asking householders to complete the form on the doorstep. Canvassers will continue to visit properties until 1 October 2012.

People are reminded to check for ID when canvassers visit. All legitimate electoral roll canvassers will wear visible identification and have been instructed not to enter any homes.
