Two houses are for temporary accomodation for homeless families.

I have been contacted by several local residents regarding a rumour concerning these new houses.

Earlier today I spoke to the Head of Allocations and Options at Wiltshire Council about the two houses which will be 'retained' by WC and not available to Aster Communities (who will manage all the properties). She assures me that the council will make best use of the two properties by allocating FAMILIES to them. It is not WC policy to waste scarce resources (family sized houses) by under occupying them with only one person.

The council has 'single homeless hostels' (non are in Hilperton/Paxcroft Mead) where single people are temporarily housed and this is only done after any necessary risk assessment.

Any rumours regarding the type of person that WC will house at Ashton Road are completely unfounded and should be dismissed.
