PCC election result declared in Wiltshire.
A very low turnout with lots of spoiled papers.
The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Election result in Wiltshire was declared at 4.45 this morning.•Angus Stuart Macpherson, Conservative - 35,319 votes (after two stages)•Claire Moody, Labour - 21,157 votes (after two stages)•Colin Skelton – Independent - 11,146 votes•Paul Batcheltor, Liberal Democrats – 10,130 votes•John Short, UK Independent Party - 7,250 votes•Liam Bruce Silcocks – Independent - 5,212 votesThere were a total of 2,683 rejected votes - over 3% of those cast.A total of 81,477 people voted giving an overall turnout of only 15.83%. In total 37,467 postal votes were received. So not really much of a mandate from the people of Wiltshire with such a low turnout, especially if the spoilt papers are taken out of the equation.Interesting to see how poorly the Lib Dem candidate did and also the very high percentage of postal votes (over 45%).
