Waste Site allocation report received.
The Canal Road site will remain 'local' as against 'strategic'.
Wiltshire Council and Swindon Borough Council have received the Planning Inspector’s report on the examination into the Waste Site Allocations Local Plan.In her report she states 'In the site profile (for Canal Road), at ‘Scale’ add the following text:(based upon the appraisals and assessments undertaken to date, the councils do not consider this site can accommodate a strategic scale operation. Site constraints include: potential traffic and transport impacts on Trowbridge town centre and/or the village of Hilperton).'My thanks to residents and the parish council for supporting my submission to the original report voicing concern that any upgrading of the Canal Road site would have too great an impact on Hilperton. This small, but important change, shows the impact that an active local councillor (and parish council) can have with support from residents!!Paper copies of the report will be available to view during normal opening hours from Friday 23rd November at County Hall or, of course, you can find it on-line via the WC web site.
