The panel has attacked the new commissioner's 'plan'.
Angus Macpherson (the recently elected Conservative Police and Crime Commissioner) has had his wrists well and truly slapped.

His draft 'Police and Crime Plan' has been attacked by the Wiltshire Police and Crime panel.

The panel criticised Macpherson, amongst other things, for ignoring his own manifesto pledges from the election in November (mind you, it probably didn't get read by more than a handful of people), and for not having any meaningful goals, targets, timescales or budget allocations.

He is relying on the voluntary sector to do more but, according to the panel, has no idea what to do if the volunteers don't come forward.

The document itself was criticised for the front cover including a fight, an old lady being terrorised by 'hoodies', a distressed lady and a handcuffed 'client' (or whatever term the police use for prisoners these days).

The panel, which is chaired by a Conservative Wiltshire Councillor, made a total of 22 recommendations. The Conservative Cabinet was far less scathing in their comments....
