Wiltshire Council hands over control.

Trowbridge Town Park will now be maintained by Trowbridge Town Council after being transferred from Wiltshire Council.

The two councils signed an agreement last week which will see the town responsible for both maintenance and improvements.

John Thomson, Wiltshire Council cabinet member for communities, said 'This is great news for both us and the town council, and means local people will have more of a say in what goes on in the park and how the park is run.'

The transfer means that residents of Hilperton will no longer fund the Park through their Wiltshire Council precept (the cost will be covered by Trowbridge council tax payers) but will, of course, still be able to use the park and play area.
