Planning appeal to go ahead

Planning appeal APP/Y3940/A/12/2179545 - Former Bowyers site Stallard Street Trowbridge (W/11/02689/FUL refused 20 June 2012).

Wiltshire Council received the notification from PINS (the planning appeal service) regarding this appeal on 23 September.

PINS has confirmed that the appeal will still be an Inquiry and it will start on 7th January 2014.

I understand that the applicant has said that the appeal won't stop work on the 'common parts' of the two applications from taking place. However, unless I have missed something, it would appear that absolutely nothing is happening at the site.

However, this is one of the strange things about the planning system - whilst WC can approve a planning application, it can't do anything to make sure that it is actually started.
