What WC says about the Gap Road.
The clock is ticking for its construction.
The planners at WC have provided the following info in reply to a question I put to them relating to the new houses being built off of Leapgate.'The Council is keeping a watch on this development. The number of houses occupied was 99 on April 1st this year. The trigger for the completion of the (Hilperton Relief) road is 450, or August 22nd 2016 as a backstop, so we are still some way off the trigger either in completions or the backstop date.Neil Tiley in the Council’s Spatial Planning Team records the number of housing completions each year in April, so it would be worth seeking an update from him next April on the number of houses completed here by then.'I will be asking a 'supplementary' question at the meeting when this answer is officially given to me.I would also not be at all surprised to find Persimmon asking for the timetable to be relaxed - probably on the grounds that they (Persimmon) aren't making enough profit from the sale of the houses to fund the road - but then I'm a pessimist!!
