Christmas spirit will be in full festive force in Trowbridge this week as County Hall plays host to the Wealth of Wiltshire Christmas Fayre.

The Wiltshire Council-run event, which is part of the 'A Legacy for Wiltshire' programme, will include more than 40 local businesses selling a variety of goods including cakes, homemade sweets, chutneys, crafts, cards and jewellery.

There will be children’s activities throughout the day including face painting, craft workshops and Christmas stories in the library with the Bookstart Bear.

The event is proving popular with additional space being provided for extra stalls to meet demand.

The free event will run from 10.00am to 7.30pm on Thursday, December 12.

Father Christmas's real reindeer and elves will visit from 3.00pm and there will be singing from local primary schoolchildren during the day and a gospel choir in the evening.

Hot food will be available all day long with mulled wine and mince pies.
