Heron Land and Gallagher are eyeing-up Devizes Road.

Heron Land and Gallagher have contacted local residents regarding a prospective development site on land south of Devizes Road.

It is their intention to submit an outline planning application to Wiltshire Council later this month.

The site is outside both the village policy limit and the 'boundary' for Paxcroft Mead. It is not allocated for housing in either the extant development plan nor the pending Wiltshire Core Strategy which has just been through its Inspection In Public.

A few years ago, a developer approached Wiltshire Council about the land and was told that there was, basically, no chance of developing the land in the near future. It would be interesting to know why Heron now feel able to 'try their luck' and what advice they were given during (presumably) their confidential pre-application discussion with WC.
