A request for an extraordinary WC council meeting has been lodged.

Below is the formal request for an extraordinary council meeting sent to the Chairman of Wiltshire Council today.

'This is a formal request for an Extraordinary Council Meeting under Part 4 of the Constitution, Paragraphs 8 and 9.

It is submitted by the following councillors of the Independent political group:

Jeff Osborn

Terry Chivers

Helen Osborn

Chris Caswill

Ernie Clark.

We understand that if you, as Chairman of the Council, refuse to call the meeting, or fail to call the meeting within seven days of this presentation of the requisition, then the requisition has to go to the Director of Resources for action.

The business of this extraordinary meeting is to rescind the decision on Members’ Allowances made by Council on 12th November 2013.

We appreciate that under Part 4, Paragraph 85, of the Constitution, a motion to rescind a decision made by Council within the last six months requires the signatures of at least 10 councillors. These will be provided once this request for the extraordinary meeting is formally agreed.'
