At the 16th January 2014 meeting of Trowbridge Area Board, it was agreed that £10,000 would be ring fenced to provide small grants to support projects that will commemorate the World War One centenary.

Projects must take place in the Trowbridge Community Area (Hilperton, North Bradley, Southwick, Trowbridge and West Ashton).

Who can apply?

Applications are welcomed from any of the following:

• Neighbourhood groups & residents associations

• Groups of commonality or common interests

• Parish Councils

• Local voluntary groups

Groups that have no constitution or terms of reference but have come together for the purpose of organising a commemorative project may apply; however there will need to be a nominated relevant local organisation to receive the funding on their behalf.

How much can be applied for?

Up to £1,000 can be applied for.

Application Form

The application form asks similar questions to those used for the Area Board community area grants system. However, it has been simplified considerably in order to make the process as easy and straight forward as possible for both the applicant and the Area Board.

What is the deadline for applications?

Applications can be received until 20th March 2014. It is anticipated that a decision on your application will be made by the 30th April 2014. Please note applications will be considered on a first come first served basis so you may wish you get your application in as soon as possible.

The Area Board will be looking for a geographical spread of projects and a variety of types of projects.

Evaluation.

As the funding is public money, if your application is successful and you receive a grant we will expect you to sign a letter agreeing to general conditions on your grant plus you will also be expected to complete a simple evaluation form on completion of your project.
