As despatched by WC last night...

I think 'Grim' is the word.

Wednesday: Rain heavy at times clearing away eastwards during the afternoon, this followed by showers and bright intervals. Showers and clear intervals this evening, showers becoming less frequent for a time between midnight and 3am. After 3am, showers increasing again, some becoming heavy with hail and sleet in places. RST's briefly dipping very close to freezing in wintry showers.

Thursday: A bright and breezy afternoon with scattered, potentially heavy and thundery showers. Showers will die away to leave a dry night with patchy cloud and clear spells bringing the risk of frost by the end of the night. Clouding over through Friday morning with the wind strengthening.

Friday: Cloudy and increasingly windy with rain, persistent and heavy at times spreading in from the south. Cloudy and very windy overnight with patchy rain at times.

Outlook for Saturday & Sunday: Cloudy and windy on Saturday with any lingering rain clearing to the north, Dry overnight with much lighter winds and some clear skies. Dry and bright through Sunday before the wind strengthens and further rain, heavy and persistent, at times spreads in from the south.
