Ernie Clark. Hilperton Division, Wiltshire Council.

Latest information from WWDC.
The authority is part of the Participatory Arts Workshops Scheme (PAWS), which allows organisations such as youth groups, senior citizens’ clubs, homelessness schemes, play groups and day centres to apply for an arts project, spread over four sessions.

Workshops cost just £25 each, and the only criteria for groups wanting to book the sessions are that they have at least ten people who want to take part and there is access to a suitable venue. There may be additional costs for materials or equipment.

Among the arts on offer in West Wiltshire are: Let’s Sing, Shadow puppetry, DanceXperience, Banner making, Mosaic making, Jewellery making, Wire sculptures, Recycled sculptures, DramaXperience, Get plastered - sculpture, Mural painting, Woven landscapes, Rhythm Factory - music and Mysterious pictures. So there really is something for every taste.

Applications to the scheme, which is running until next March, can still be made. Groups are asked to state which arts project they want, who will benefit, where it will take place and the preferred dates. To find out more, contact the arts development officer Meril Morgan on 01225 770326, or e-mail her at mmorgan@westwiltshire.gov.uk
