Good news - of a sort!

The result of the recent 'metrocount' has come through.

A 'metrocount' is the rubber tubes laid across the road which records vehicle speed, numbers etc.

The survey was carried out between 30th April and 7th May. A total of 14,284 vehicles were checked. The 85th percentile was 25.7mph (the 85th percentile is the speed at which 85% of the traffic is travelling at or below).

This result means that Devizes Road can be added as a Community Speed Watch area.

However, for this to be effective, more volunteers resident in Devizes Road/Stourton Park are needed.
